The Bear Cubs hammered Cosumnes River College in a 3-0 victory Oct 3.
Santa Rosa outmatched the Hawks 21-4 in shots on goal.
“We played one of the best games games of the year,” said head coach Marty Kinahan.
Nearing the end of the first half, defender Matais Gomez received a passed from David Luis to give the Bear Cubs, a 1-0 lead at half time.
The defense has been outstanding. They have not allowed any goals in the last four games.
Early in the second half, Luis again helped the offense while Alejandro Madrigal put the ball in the net giving the Bear Cubs a 2-0 lead. Santa Rosa really showed off their defense and the backs stole the ball repeatedly.
“We really played hard,” Kinahan said.
Forward Juan Nuno finished the scoring with a great header on an assist by second-year player Kevin Rojas.
SRJC goes for their third conference win as they go on the road to face Folsom Lake College. Goalkeeper Javy Aguilar will be in the nets going for his fifth straight shutout.
