Santa Rosa Junior College ran past the opposition after a slow start and cruised to the finish to beat Sacramento City College 80-70 on Friday night in Haehl Pavilion.
Justin Frazier tied the score at 19 midway through the first half for SRJC, and John Montez added a three in transition to give the Bear Cubs a 22-19 advantage. The Bear Cubs led the rest of the way.
Santa Rosa led by as many as ten points until Sacramento managed to cut the score to 62-57 with nine minutes remaining in the game. Consecutive buckets by Montez, Kiel Long, and Montez again gave the Bear Cubs a 68-57 advantage.
Frazier paced the Bear Cubs scoring with 20 points, including six made shots from behind the arc. Justin Botteri added 17 points and was 3-3 on free throws in the second half. Jordan Graves added 13 points off the bench for the Bear Cubs.
