The Bear Cubs softball team is now on a four-game win streak after six-inning wins in a doubleheader against DeAnza College and Yuba College Feb. 14.
In the first game against DeAnza, the Bear Cubs shutout the Dons 8-0. The game was called after six innings to the eight-run rule.
The Bear Cubs dominated in the second game, winning 10-2 against Yuba, which also was called after six innings to the eight-run rule.
With a four-game win streak, the Bear Cubs are running on all cylinders. They won 7-3 against Ohlone College Feb. 10 and 4-3 against West Valley College Feb. 11.
“It feels good knowing that we have we beaten some good teams on our road to success,” said pitcher Dana Thomsen. “We have a goal and a dream as a team and we are hoping we can continue this positive road to get where we need to get.”
With an 8-1 record, the Bear Cubs’ attention turns to their next opponent Gavilan College, whom they face at 3 p.m. for the first game and then at 5 p.m. for the second game Feb. 17.
Then the Bear Cubs are back at home to take on Foothill College at 10 a.m., then Butte College at 2 p.m. Feb. 21.
