SRJC’s golf team is off to a quick start, finishing second in the Stanford Tournament Feb. 6 in Palo Alto and winning the Delta Tournament Feb. 9 in Stockton.
The golf team is playing well and nearly won the Stanford Tournament after falling six strokes short. “We played good, we finished second out of 14 teams,” said SRJC golf player Daniel Dal Poggetto.
Dal Poggetto played well not only at the Stanford Tournament but also at the Delta Tournament, attributing both his and the team’s success to rigorous team tryouts.
“The competition at Stanford was deeply intense,” Dal Pogetto said. “The team tryouts were hard and the pressure got us prepared.”
Dal Pogetto enjoys the fellowship of the team and plays to win and have fun. “Were a bunch of fun kids, and can be goofballs,” Dal Pogetto said.
The golf team’s next home event is a practice match at 11 a.m. Feb. 23 in Windsor, followed by the Big 8 tournament April 17 in Windsor.
