The women’s water polo team is on a three-game losing streak, with recent losses to Diablo Valley College, Foothill College and Sierra College.
The Bear Cubs lost 10-5 in a frustrating game against the 2012 NorCal champions, the Foothill College Owls Sept. 27. After the first quarter, the score was 2-3 Foothill College.
The Bear Cubs threw away several opportunities to win the game. “We just didn’t execute our offensive plan,” said Coach Jill McCormick.
Jillian Patalano lead the team on both sides of the pool with two goals and five steals. Nicole Groat had one goal, an assist and two steals. Team captain Brooke Wolford had a steal and drew two ejections.
“Our best game of the season was against American River College and Cerritos College,” McCormick said.
The team is now 1-7 overall. The team played Oct.4-5 in the Cuesta Tournament in San Luis Obispo.
