Applications are now open for Student Government positions for the 2025-26 school year, SGA members announced during their meeting on Feb. 24.
SGA coordinator Zack Miranda said the application period for 2025 student elections has begun. Applications are due by 5 p.m. March 28 and elections will take place from April 21-25. Additional information is available on the school’s website.
Rebecca Norwich, a representative for student health services, presented during the meeting about upcoming a student health fee increase for 2025-26. Starting in fall 2025, the health fee will be $27 per student.
Norwich said the fee increase is intended to allow the student health center to provide reproductive health services with a physician contract, serve noncredit students, pay for employee cost-of-living increases and relieve the increased cost of supplies. “Everything is getting more expensive,” she said.
SGA members unanimously voted Vice President of Student Life at Petaluma Matthew Coronado onto the Santa Rosa Junior College hiring committee to participate in the Hispanic-Serving Institution Grant Initiatives.
