Heavy rains are forecasted to swell the Russian River beyond flood levels early Wednesday morning which may cause sections of River Road and other routes to become impassable.
An evacuation order for low lying areas along the Russian River from unincorporated Healdsburg to Jenner is in place, according to the National Weather Service.
Earlier Tuesday, Santa Rosa Junior College announced that the Shone Farm campus near Forestville is closed through Thursday.
The river is expected to reach 32.7 feet, above its minor flood stage of 32 feet, by Wednesday morning and rise to 35.2 feet later in the day. Residents in areas below 36 feet have been warned to leave.
A temporary evacuation point is available at Santa Rosa Veterans Memorial Hall, west parking lot, located at 1351 Maple Avenue, Santa Rosa.
Students traveling to SRJC campuses are reminded to check online for road closures before setting off and to never attempt to drive through standing water.
