The Rotary Club of Santa Rosa Foundation (RCSRF) is offering 14 scholarships totaling $40,000 exclusively to Santa Rosa Junior College attendees for the 2025 academic year.

Individual awards range from $2,000 to $5,000, many renewable for a second semester if eligibility is maintained.

For over 50 years RCSRF has awarded millions of dollars in scholarships–largely derived from memorial funds bequeathed by departed Rotary Club members–assisting hundreds of SRJC students to achieve their academic goals. Notable recipients include Anamaria Morales and Elizabeth Quoriz.

Morales gained notoriety as the “College Confectionista” as she worked her way through a transfer to UC Berkeley by selling cheesecakes. She later turned her side-hustle into a thriving business.

Quoriz transferred to earn her bachelor’s at Sonoma State University and later a master’s at Arizona State University. She went on to co-found Redemption House, a Bay Area non-profit that tackles human trafficking.

In an effort to get scholarship funds to students as efficiently as possible, this is the first year the Rotary Club is administering the application process which was previously managed by the SRJC scholarship office, according to RCSRF’s Scholarship Chair Steve Olson.

Olson graduated from SRJC in 1962 and subsequently served the school for 37 years as faculty and administrator prior to his role with the Rotary Club.

Some awards are intended for specific majors such as business, health science or engineering. Two are designated for military veterans and another for a student with a disability. However, all eligible full-time students are invited to apply.

Eligibility requirements include: current enrollment at SRJC, 12 planned units as a transferring or continuing student for the Spring semester, at least one previously completed semester, and a minimum GPA of 3.0.

To apply, visit https://www.santarosarotary.com/scholarships, fill out the application and upload your SRJC transcripts. Be ready to explain your academic goals and career aspirations.

The application deadline is March 1 and recipients are expected to be decided after an interview process toward the end of April.

Questions can be directed to RCSRF secretary Debi Zaft at [email protected].
Best of luck!
