The Santa Rosa Junior College Student Government Assembly announced the results of the spring 2019 election in a Bearfacts email to students on Monday. The online poll and in-person voting booths were open from Monday April 15 through Friday April 19.
Lekkyes G. Dakwakas of the Justice Gang slate was elected student body president, racking up 598 votes.
Incumbent Sean Young was re-elected executive vice president of legislation, with 448 votes.
Alexander Hayes was elected vice president of finance, with 699 votes.
Claudia Muralles was elected vice president of clubs for the Petaluma campus, with 688 votes.
Dakota McGranahan was elected vice president of student life for Santa Rosa, with 686 votes.
Meea McMath of the United Students slate was elected vice president of student life for the Petaluma campus, with 693 votes.
Livier De La Torre of the Rosebuds slate was elected vice president of marketing for the Petaluma campus, with 702 votes.
Nikki Magallanes of the Rosebuds slate was elected vice president of diversity, with 302 votes.
Mary Cabrera of the Rosebuds slate was elected vice president of student health, with 706 votes.
Sofia Tecpoyotl Ramos was elected vice president of sustainability, with 717 votes.
Daniel Pablo of the Justice Gang slate was elected as Sonoma County Junior College District student trustee, with 503 votes.
The Santa Rosa campus vice president of clubs and vice president of marketing positions are still vacant.
Zack Miranda, coordinator of student government programs, announced the winners to the current SGA at their Monday meeting, commenting that 911 students cast their votes in the election — over 200 more votes than last year.
