Oak Leafers gather at the end of a fruitful conference. The Journalism Association of Community Colleges' annual conference in Sacramento Calif. April 9-11, 2015 and was attended by Oak Leaf staff, editors and advisors Anne Belden and Brian Antonson.
The Oak Leaf sent a delegation of staffers, photographers, editors and advisors to the Journalism Association of Community Colleges’ annual convention in Sacramento, Calif. April 9-11, 2015. The Oak Leaf received a General Excellence award recognizing the paper’s achievements in the past year. Several honors were awarded to the team, including first place to Pio Valenzuela for on-the-spot news coverage and first place to JoshuOne Barnes for enterprise news series for his series on controversies surrounding the SRJC district police.
