Don’t be like that, dude
A female student was strolling past Garcia Hall at 11:15 a.m. on Feb. 3 when two men began verbally harassing her with lewd and unwelcome comments. When the student tried to continue on her way, one of the men grabbed her arm and said, “Don’t be like that, girl.” She left quickly and wasn’t followed. The men have yet to be identified.
Drunk driver fails at driving…and probation
While on patrol at 11:25 p.m. on Feb. 18, an SRJC District Police Officer spotted a vehicle swerving in and out of lanes on Mendocino Avenue. The officer stopped the driver near the corner of Mendocino Avenue and Elliott Street, and was hit with the stench of alcohol. The driver was already on probation for a DUI and put under arrest after doing poorly on a sobriety test and testing at .167 percent blood alcohol level.
U Can’t Touch This
On March 8 in Doyle Library, a man approached a female student and attempted to coerce her into participating in a survey regarding how women cross their legs. He then asked permission to “touch” her. The man was described as caucasian, of a heavy build, approximately 200-220 pounds, five feet and 11 inches tall, having short, dark straight hair and a clean shaven face. He appeared to be in his early 20s and was last seen wearing a tan sweatshirt and blue jeans.
