The Santa Rosa Junior College Bear Cubs’ volleyball team extended it’s winning streak to three after a convincing win at Haehl Pavilion versus Cosumnes River College
The Bear Cubs [10-4] were favored on paper to win so head coach Kaitlin Ferguson made sure the team didn’t lose focus, “Mental toughness was the theme of this week in our practices,” Ferguson said. “We faltered a bit in practice last Monday but picked things up the last couple days.”
Hard work in practice paid off as SRJC came out energetic and ready. They easily won the first and second sets by scores of 25-17 and 25-18.
“We feel pretty confident even though we were missing a few players who bring up our level of play,” said freshman Kazja Fa’agata-Averbuck.
Cosumnes [8-5] gave a little fight in the third set, but the Bears Cubs put them away and won 25-0 to finish the sweep.
SRJC now look on to play Modesto Junior College at 6:30 p.m. next Wednesday at Modesto.
