Santa Rosa Junior College Student Life invites students to submit short films for the 17th Annual Sonoma County Student Film Festival, an event designed to build a local film-loving community, on April 4 at the Carole L. Ellis Auditorium at the SRJC Petaluma Campus.
SRJC Student Government President Amanda Swan founded the Sonoma County Student Film Festival (SCSFF) in 2008. The festival is currently run as a collaboration between SRJC Student Life and the communication studies department.
According to the festival’s website, the goal of the event is to offer the opportunity to build connections with fellow students and the local filmmaking community. Established filmmakers are invited to attend the screening, and “Best of Show” winners will have the opportunity to meet with industry professionals from around the world.
The call for entries remains open until midnight on March 3. Accepted entries will be announced on March 14.
The Sonoma County Student Film Festival committee invites students to serve as judges for the films and to volunteer at the festival screening on April 4.
Current and previously enrolled students may submit up to two entries. Forms accepted include animation, live action, documentary, music video and more. The films must not exceed 15 minutes in length. More information regarding submissions, rules and prizes can be found at FilmFreeway.
