ClusterFunk Studios will celebrate Santa Rosa Junior College’s Black History Month with “Master Peace & Mocktails,” featuring paint therapy, music and unique refreshments, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 12 in the Student Activities Center in Bertolini Hall.
For the event, ClusterFunk Studios co-founders Brittany Lee and Tyler Anne plan to connect students through the therapeutic power of art and creativity while exploring the cultural history of Black History Month.
“It’s definitely for all students from our perspective, because Black history is everybody’s history. It’s American history,” Lee said.
The event will focus on guided paint therapy, in which participants will take part in an art session designed to help relieve stress and unlock their artistic side. Whether they are experienced artists or beginners, everyone is welcome.
“It’s a celebration of Black history, so it’s a way for students to come and create a design, get creative and express themselves in their own unique way,” Lee said.
Lee will DJ the event and play music from popular artists including SZA, Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé and Ray Charles. In addition to the artistic experience, students can enjoy nonalcoholic mocktails, carefully crafted to enhance the event’s spirit.
