A once-in-a-lifetime chance to view unique works by famous historical artists is coming to the Sebastopol Center for the Arts, 282 S. High St., Sebastopol, in late October. Reverberations: A Visual Conversation, an exhibition of rare, privately-owned art gathered from collections throughout Sonoma County, opens with a reception on site on Oct. 25 from 6-8 p.m. The exhibit will continue through Dec. 2, 2018, with Tuesday-Friday hours from 10-5 and extended Saturday-Sunday hours from noon-5. Admission is free.
High profile masterworks include original pieces by Pablo Picasso, Francis Bacon and Joan Miro. New poems written by forty-four established local poets, including poet laureates, will accompany each piece. The exhibit will be enhanced by accompanying events, including poetry readings, a panel discussion and an evening of short films.
Businesses, students and faculty are encouraged to attend. Groups of 10 or more are asked to sign up for a docent-led tour.
Volunteers—particularly gallery docents and greeters—are needed for this high-security event, with volunteer training meetings being held at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts on October 15, 2-5 PM. A volunteer sign up link, along with additional information, can be found on the Sebastopol Center for the Arts website, at:
